Discover a Great Way of Choosing Foods

Jun 30, 10 Discover a Great Way of Choosing Foods

The people of the United States declare July 4, 1776 as independence from Great Britain.  The declaration of independence, they achieved  their freedom;  a freedom that celebrated once a year with fireworks, parades, barbecues, fairs, picnics, baseball games, is family fun, political speeches and ceremonies.  They treasure and celebrate their freedom.

Although 1776 they declared independence as a nation, still there are some areas in their life that they still feel like a prisoner.  As a dietitian and nutrition therapist,  I am focusing the issue of being a prisoner or controlled by a diet and illustrate a way to become free.

We are going to give a new path and learn to become a mindful eater.  We will discuss what is mindful eater and what is all about.

You have to learn the art of mindful eating in which you begin to cut the sugar and the salt. Why?  Since you discover the foods that make you feel good, equally physically and emotionally.  You have to recognize the foods that make you feel slow-moving, short-tempered and just not your best self.  Lastly, you have to find out the foods you really enjoy eating and you learn to eat less and feel satisfied without guilt.

Mindful eater means:

1. Discover how to taste food

2. Eat a smaller amount.

3. Do not go on diet once more.

4. You have to feel  contented of what food you eat.

5. Be conscious of your hunger and fullness signal.

6. Seldom over eating.

7. Be happy the whole meal – together with your family, friends and the food

8. Look for a healthy weight  and remain in your healthy weight series

When individuals specially constant dieters, take for granted the diet rules and know how to listen and trust their body with food, they can really eat less.  Then when can eat less, you eventually eat fewer calories, sugar, fat and salt. This coming Independence day, if you like to break away from diets, begin to learn to become a new mindful eater with a few simple steps such as the one listed below.

1. Recognize the foods that you enjoy eating.  Rank the foods as your all time favorite to foods that you don’t like.

2. Serve yourself on a plate when you eat, sit down, slow down, and start tasting your food.  You will be happy doing this.

3. On the middle through the meal- stop.  Inquire your self how hungry or full am I? if the answer is neutral, then stop eating.
