Lot of claims today are appearing for food and vitamins that boost our health, but which of these really works? Good night Vision if you eat carrots, better eyesight if you eat food rich in vitamin E, brighter eyes if you eat brocolli?
Vitamin A helps the eyes to generate and build pigments that absorb light. So for a good night vision , you need to eat lots of sweet potatoes and carrots as this foods are rich in betacarotine, a precursor form of Vitamin A. Seafoods like fish and full-cream dairy products are also rich and other source of Vitamin A.
Vitamin C and E contains antioxidant properties that helps slow down the progression of cataracts. Eat nuts and seeds such as beans as this foods are rich in Vitamin E. Brocolli and citrus fruits are rich and the primary source of Vitamin C.
The two dominant pigments found in the macula of the eye which is Lutein and Zeaxanthin helps prevent retina damage by filtering out some of the harmful light. Lutein can be found in egg yolks and green leafy vegetables. Red capsicum, corn, and greens are the primary source of Zeaxanthin.
Age-related Degeneration of macula can also be slowed down with the help of Zinc. Maintain the intake of nutrient through beans, seafood, poultry, and meat.
