HIV-infected Singer Confessed Transmitting the Virus to Her Partner

In DARMSTADT, Germany, German singer Nadja Benaissa, facing charges that she caused impurities to a man with the virus that brought about AIDS recognized in court that she had defenseless sex in spite of knowing she was HIV-positive.
The member of the German girl band No Angels is accused with serious bodily damage for supposedly infecting a partner with the virus. She was also accused of trying bodily damage for having defenseless sex with two other men.
She said in a statement read by her lawyer that “I am sorry from my heart, no way did I wish my partner to be infected.’’
At the start of 2004, the man who alleged that Benaissa contaminated him says that they had a three-month affiliation.
She informed the court she became devoted to break cocaine at 14 and that in her pregnancy at 16, she discovered that she was HIV positive.
She covered her illness for worry it would harm her career. Of that time, the singer stated in her statement, “I grew apart from everyone, even myself.’’
