A Fitness Magazine Survey concerning 1, 000 brides shows 83% of them wanted to lose weight before their wedding, and most of them were willing to take extreme actions just to do the sudden shedding of weight, which is sometimes called brideorexia. Cardiologist Dr. Jennifer Morrow, who lost 75 pounds just for her own wedding, calls the action, “fear of the white dress”.

Some accounts also stated Bill Clinton even used the Cabbage Soup Diet to shed off 15 pounds for the wedding of her daughter Chelsea’s wedding, which is rumored to be happening this weekend. The former president claims had lost 2 pounds, but did not showed up his weight-losing techniques.

One way for brides to fit in their wedding dresses is the radical very low calorie diet (VLCD) like the Cabbage Soup Diet. The 2008 survey showed that 43% of brides increase twofold their workout time, 41% go on a strict diet, and 14% don’t eat for a week before heading for the church altar. Another 36% mull over on the weight loss pills and supplements to shed off the fats.

Fitness editor-in-chief Denise Brodey says more and more people spend money and look up to celebrities.

It may be natural for brides, grooms and others in the special occasion to be conscious about how they look during the wedding day, but wading out to drastic tips for weight loss might be too risky, and can be a short-term fix. Always remember losing weight in the most natural way can make couples live happily ever after.

Brides and grooms should make up a personal health plan for an effective wedding look for the big day, and the following could help you out if you’re one of them:

Start your healthful lifestyle together. Those who obtain support for their hard work are more triumphant.

Work out on a gym or hire a personal trainer for you to be on the regular schedule of physical activity. Remember to take in both cardiovascular and strength training at least three to four days every week.

For a healthy eating plan, see a nutritionist or dietitian.

Eat smaller parts of your diet and pick out lower-calorie foods but not below 1,200 a day to ensure proper nutrition.

Be careful of liquid calories. Alcohols usually abound in engagement parties and other pre-wedding occasions.

During the honeymoon, worry less about the pounds you might get back. Enjoy yourself. If you already have recognized the habit of exercise and a healthy diet in the daily lifestyle.
